The items on this list are merely suggestions. If you have some paints and brushes already, we'll start with what you have. By no means feel obligated to get ALL of these things at once. You can BUILD your supplies as you learn more and your needs grow.
- Paint brushes: - synthetic:
- Flat: # 2, #1, #1/2, #1/4,
- Round: #20, #10, #1
- Palette Knife: (optional)
- Canvass:
- Pre-stretched and primed canvasses (sizes optional). Please discuss with me.
- Easel: table type (optional)
- Paint:
- Pure Cadmium Red Medium....
- Phthalocyanine Blue,
- Ultramarine Blue
- Phthalocyanine Green (optional)
- Olive Green, (optional)
- Alizarin or Acra Crimson
- Burnt Umber,
- Raw Sienna,
- Titanium White (large tube)
- Acrylic Glazing Liquid: to retard the drying time of the paint.
- Paint mixing palette: can be anything like a plastic plate or a large lid from a Tupperware if you buy one, get one with compartments around the perimeter...the bigger the better.
- Dishtowel:
- Pencil: medium
- Tackle box: to put it all in. Sometimes you'll want to get a separate box for the brushes....
- Plastic container: (1) like a large peanut butter jar.
- Spray Bottle: for water, to mist the paints with water
Then, pick one or two colors that jump out at you, that "speak to your heart". They will be your "play" colors.... but please no more than two or three.
